Great Taste award for Angels’ Nectar

Tasted blind by the Guild of Fine Food’s expert panel of judges, Angels’ Nectar Oloroso Sherry Cask Edition 46%, from Grantown-on-Spey based Highfern Ltd, has been awarded a Great Taste One Star in the world’s most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme. The award is for ‘food and drink that delivers fantastic flavour’.

Reviewing the Angels’ Nectar Oloroso Sherry Cask Edition 46% the judges commented:

Beautiful clear amber colour; the nose is extremely appealing, a riot of elements, notably smoke, toasted barley, butterscotch and charred oak, very rich, inviting and warming. This is a fine quality whisky, with complex layers of flavour and real depth; it is packed with character, running from burnt caramel and raisins, through smokey toast, with notes of vanilla. Smooth, very rich and rounded in style, this is an obviously lovingly crafted product, which delivers a well balanced, approachable style of whisky, with great body and a warming, lingering finish.’

Explaining further, Robert Ransom, founder of Angels’ Nectar commented, ‘The Angels’ Nectar Oloroso Sherry Cask Edition 46% is a six years old single malt matured for the duration in former sherry casks. It’s wonderful to receive this recognition from the Guild of Fine Food for this rich and indulgent dram.’
