Just Landed: Milestone releases from Langatun and Smögen

We have two new releases from Switzerland and Sweden:

Langatun Swiss Single Malt 10 Years Old - Second Edition
Pinot Noir Single Cask

For the second time Langatun is launching a 10-year-old Swiss Single Malt Whisky. For this important milestone in Langatun’s history, the Langatun team have selecting an exceptional Pinot Noir cask, which has been bottled at their signature strength of 49.12%. It is a limited edition of just 555 bottles, of which we have just a small allocation for the UK.

Dark amber in colour, expect polished wood and dried figs on the nose, which opens on the taste to reveal a rich red wine with Demerera sugar, followed by sherry notes.

As ever Langatun is a must try for all lovers of wine cask matured whisky.

Smögen 8 Years Old - Batch 2
In a similar vein to Langatun, this is Smögen’s second 8 years old release, a vatting of seven first fill former bourbon barrels and one former sherry hogshead, filled in spring 2012 and bottled at 59.8% in October 2020.

Distilled from heavily peated optic barley, this is a full on dram with Smögen’s trademark peat smoke in abundance. Add a drop of water and explore beyond the peat to discover balanced notes of vanilla, almond, ginger and a little fruitiness.

High density Smögen.
